Aura Photography Basics

What is aura photography?

Aura photography captures the colors of your energy field on a physical Polaroid. Using a specialized camera connected to biofeedback hand sensors, your energy is translated into a spectrum of color — then interpreted for you by one of our trained intuitive readers. The result is a one-of-a-kind portrait of you, surrounded by your aura.

How does aura photography work?

You'll rest your palms on the biofeedback hand sensors connected to our Aura Camera 6000. The sensors read the bioelectric signals your body is already radiating — electrical conductivity, temperature, the energy that's uniquely yours in this moment. The camera translates those signals into color and prints them onto a Polaroid, right in front of you. Then your reader walks you through what your colors mean.

What do my colors mean?

Every color reflects something different — and your aura is never fixed. Red speaks to drive and groundedness, blue to calm and clarity, purple to intuition, green to healing and growth, and so on. Each color also connects to a chakra and an emotional state. Your reader will walk you through exactly what's showing up in your photo and what it might be telling you right now.

How can I experience Ignite Your Aura?

Before You Book

How do I book an aura photo session?

Find your closest pop-up on our Locations page and book directly through the site. Sessions fill up fast, especially around events and weekends, so we recommend reserving your spot early. Hosting an event instead? Reach out and we'll bring aura photography to you.

How much does a session cost?

Pricing varies by event type and location. Most individual aura appointments start at $65/photo + reading. For photos only, pricing starts at $35/photo. Visit the booking page or contact us for current packages anywhere you find us.

Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?

It depends on the event. Pop-ups often welcome walk-ins based on availability, but to ensure your spot, we suggest booking in advance. Check the current schedule on the Book Now page to see what's available near you.

How long does a session take?

Most sessions run 10–20 minutes from start to finish. This includes taking your photo, Polaroid development, and your reading.

Do I need to prepare for anything?

Just show up as you are. No meditation required, no specific mindset needed. Your energy is already doing everything it needs to do.

What should I wear?

Whatever makes you feel most like yourself. Some guests prefer to avoid very busy patterns in case they distract from their aura colors in the photo — but your energy comes through either way.

Can children participate?

Yes — kids tend to love seeing their colors. A parent or guardian should join young children for their session. We also offer our Better Together package so you can capture your individual and group auras side by side.

Do you photograph pets?

We do! Pets have energy fields too, and their aura photos are honestly some of our favorites. Reach out before your session or event so we can make sure we're set up to capture your furry friend's colors.

Is aura photography safe if you are pregnant?

Yes. Aura photography is completely non-invasive — the hand sensors simply read the natural bioelectric signals your body already produces. There's no radiation and no flash required. Many expecting guests love capturing their energy during such a meaningful season of life.

Can I give an aura session as a gift?

Gift cards are available on the website and make a genuinely unforgettable present — for birthdays, anniversaries, or any occasion where you want to give something that actually means something.

Where are you located?

Sessions and private events are available in Colorado, Utah, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and South Carolina. We also travel to Washington, DC and Massachusetts for events. Head to the Locations page to find your closest pop-up or to book us anywhere for your event.

During & After Your Session

What actually happens during a session?

You sit in front of the Aura Camera 6000, place your palms on the biofeedback sensors, and stay still for the capture. Your Polaroid prints in real time — you'll watch your colors develop right in front of you. Then your reader walks you through what they see.

Will I get a physical photo?

Yes, every session produces a physical Polaroid-style aura photograph that's yours to take home, along with a guide card that explains your colors. Ask your photographer what's included at your specific event.

How long does my Polaroid take to develop?

Just a few minutes. Watching it come to life never gets old.

What does the reading include?

Your reader will explain the colors in your photo — which chakras they correspond to, what they might reflect about your current emotional or energetic state, and any intuitive impressions that come through. Always warm, grounded, and offered without judgment.

Can my aura colors change over time?

Yes, and they will! Your aura shifts as you do. Many guests come back every few months to track how their energy evolves. Each photo marks a specific moment in time.

Can two people be photographed together?

Yes. When two people sit together you can see how your energy fields interact — and the results are often deeply meaningful. Ask about our Better Together package.

How do I book a private event?

Head to the Private Events page or use the contact form. Tell us about your event — the date, vibe, and guest count — and we'll take it from there.

What kinds of events can I book Ignite Your Aura for?

Corporate events, festivals, bachelorette parties, birthdays, wedding receptions, bridal showers, brand activations, pop-ups at boutiques and wellness studios — if you're gathering people, aura photography makes it memorable.

How many guests can a private event accommodate?

Groups of all sizes — from intimate gatherings of 10 to large-scale corporate events of 500+. Share your guest count when you reach out and we'll build the right package for you.

How far in advance do I need to book?

For private events, 4–6 weeks in advance is ideal — 2–3 months for larger events or peak dates. The earlier, the better.

Is aura photography good for a bachelorette party?

It's one of the best things you can add. It's unique, it's meaningful, it photographs beautifully, and every guest takes home a Polaroid they'll actually keep.

Can IYA be booked for corporate events?

Do you travel for events?

Yes. The team operates across multiple states and regularly travels for private events and activations. Travel fees may apply depending on location. The Ignite Your Aura team can travel nationally for events.
